About 3 hours ago was when we stopped getting email and also the ability to send email. I am on the phone right now with my ISP to see if it is something on their end.

Thu, July 12, 2007 - 1:54 PMis you mail server hosted with your ISP or webhost, or is it on the local network? If its hosted have you tried pinging the server ip and DNS addresses? If so what was the response?

Fri, July 13, 2007 - 12:01 AMAnother test is to see if you can telnet to the server over port 110 (assuming that the default port is being used for POP3). We would definitely need to know more information though, such as if your mail server is on your local network. I'm guessing that all is well by now, but if not, let us know if you have any more information.

Fri, July 13, 2007 - 1:41 PMSomething with the exchange server must be screwed up because I reconfigured outlook to bypass exchange (changing pop3 to port 1025) and started getting mail again. As you can tell, I am an amateur a little in over my head but learning as I go. Network admin is a hellava first IT gig!
